This series represents my first foray into the world of surrealism. A stylistic departure that is still closely married with symbolism woven throughout. The use of the female figure reflects as a type of self- portrait, moving through different physical and emotional states. These paintings include narratives of faith, perseverance and hope during dark times. I chose to paint these with warm vivid colors to burnish these moments to memory and carry them on in our life's journey towards the unknown.

Artist Statement

I am a storyteller who focuses on the vivid expression of dreams by using symbolism via the struggles of life, hope, success and failure. Guided by my old soul and humbly following in the footsteps of the classical surreal master’s technique, I constantly seek to challenge myself to produce work that is both expressive and emotional. My work aspires to be a mirror of emotions, using different characters or creatures that often come in dreams. Each painting is completely unique and often vary significantly in physical size and scope. My form of symbolism seeks to create a magical environment that draws the viewer to challenge their imagination to understand what each painting means to them.I appreciate antiquity in all forms and frequently marry eastern and western cultural concepts and realities to bridge divides within my dreamscapes.
